AB Testing or (Split Testing) is when you create two more versions of a page and send traffic to the variations. Then you use the resulting conversion data and statistics to determine which page is the winner.
This can be difficult to setup from scratch. Fortunately if have Google Analytics installed on your site (which 99% of sites do) then you can use Google’s AB Testing tool called Google Content Experiments to run you own AB tests. Also it’s free~!
What’s not so easy is implementing this tool. It requires you to create separate urls for each variation and to add code to each of those page. For the non technical or even some what technical person this can be difficult to setup in a WordPress site and can even cause SEO issues since you are essentially duplicating content.
There are paid AB testing tools out there that provide a page builder that let you enter your url and manipulate the layout to create variations. But these tend to be expensive starting at around $49 per month.
Plus if you are using Beaver Builder with WordPress you already have an awesome page building tool. But again there is no easy way to implement Google Content Experiments.
So being a web developer I naturally set out to solve this problem since I wanted to run a AB testing on my site.
